Voice, Audio & Languages
HomeTutor can read explanations aloud and supports multiple languages to make learning easier and more accessible.
How do I use voice explanations?
On supported devices, you can tap the Play button near an explanation to hear it read aloud. This is useful for:
- Young learners who read more slowly,
- Children who learn better by listening,
- Busy parents who want to listen together with their child.
You can enable or disable voice explanations in the app’s settings.
What is “Voice Speed”?
Voice Speed controls how fast the voice talks when reading explanations. If the voice is too quick or too slow, you can adjust it in settings:
- Move the slider to the left to make the voice slower,
- Move the slider to the right to make the voice faster.
This helps match the speaking speed to your child’s listening level.
Can I choose a male or female voice?
Yes, where supported by your device and language, you can choose between a male-sounding or female-sounding voice for explanations.
In Settings > Voice look for Voice preference and select the option you prefer. The exact choices may vary depending on your language and platform.
What languages does the app support?
HomeTutor aims to support both:
- Interface languages – the language of menus, buttons, and messages,
- Learning languages – the language used for explanations and voice.
You can choose your preferred language in the app settings. Some features may be initially available only in certain languages; we add new ones over time.
